#41 - P.G. Wodehouse

Sorry for missing the past two Fridays. It has been a busy time to be a nerd. But now that things have settled down, we can get back to what matters----ogling old pictures of people we know only nominally.

Which brings me to this week's contestant---Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, father of Jeeves and Wooster and Ukridge and Psmith and a hundred other characters that every human being should, by law, be required to know personally.

If you have not read one of his books or short stories or plays or musicals or etc., you have not lived. Stephen Fry explains why you should love him better than I ever could.

Teddy Roosevelt spoke softly and carried a big 6. ....Yeah, Wodehouse I en't.

Four words: Hot, hot cricket action.

Also, okay, I hate golf. I really do. But his short stories about golf are some of the funniest things in the world. The man is a comic genius. I want to be one of his characters.

Also I think he's adorable-looking. What a 9, lemme tell you.

Despite a large forehead, he's a very fine looking nine.

okay, oh my god ten. I mean! Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright! Gussie-FinkNottle! The blasted Thos! These are not the creations of a MERE 8. Pull yourself together woman, and give Pelham the props he deserves. Plus, don't you want to nibble on his nose? I KNOW I DO. He wrote till he was like, 96!

.... this is Emily.
